Wedding Favours 101

Wedding favours- to have them or skip them.

Favours are a wedding tradition in the form of a gift which is a gesture of thanks from the bride and groom to their guests for attending their wedding. This tradition is one that some couples are leaving behind (because guests often do the same). Keep reading for what we suggest to our couples!

The favour could be one per person or household depending on the gift. In the past few years, with the prices of weddings rising, we have seen many choosing to forego this cost and invest instead in a different part of the wedding budget such as florals, decor, venue, or entertainment. If your budget does not allow it or it's not important to you, skip it and invest in a part of your wedding that is most important to YOU! Or do what our lovely couple Diana & Luca did and donate the money allocated for favours to charity in lieu of a favour.

We always recommend choosing a consumable item if you make room in your budget! This way, if it is left behind- that's ok! You and your family can enjoy it later- freeze the cookies, drink the limoncello, use olive oil or vinegar!

Unuseful knick knacks or monogrammed items will be forgotten, unused or often left behind at the wedding venue, so opt for something that any guest will enjoy!

Here are some of our favourite favours:
